Micro-blogging is a form of blogging that allows users to write brief text updates (usually 140 characters) and publish them, either to be viewed by anyone or by a restricted group which can be chosen by the user. These messages can be submitted by a variety of means, including text messaging, instant messaging, email, MP3 or the web. (Defintion: Wikipedia)

So why would we like to use this tool?

It is quite simply the most powerful tool to find and follow learning partners, share resources on the fly and get instant, up to to the second help and support when you need it. It is easy to use and an effortless way to build a personal learning network

Microblogging tools:

There are quite a few microblogging tools, but my favourite one is Twitter. We are playing with a local installation at the moment -Mudaba (Thank you Wogan) with a view of establishing a South African teachers network
